LW Consulting is proud to give back to the community through various charity efforts. Throughout the years, we promote volunteer work through initiatives targeting poverty, hunger and breast cancer awareness, among other important social issues. The company has participated in these events both as a firm and through the actions of individual members of the LWCI team.
All together, 25 LWCI staff members have contributed to charitable organizations in 22 different locations, supporting groups such as the Salvation Army, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and the Boy Scouts of America. For Goodwill Industries International Inc., we’ve contributed to six different locations through eight of our members.
If you’ve read our bio pages, you know that all of our leading staff members care passionately about making a difference and helping others improve. We bring that same passion to our good works, and have used that to interact with special public events on multiple occasions. It’s about more than just supporting healthcare and wellness: We strive to find effective ways of taking part in helpful causes.
Here are some examples of organizations that LWCI has directly supported through participation in events and programs, or simply making a statement. It should demonstrate the different ways we are willing to convey our dedication to community betterment in the public sphere:
American Heart Association, American Heart Walk: In September 2015, a small group of LW team members walked the three mile loop around the city of Harrisburg to support awareness for heart disease and stroke in the Capital Region. Across all of our offices, our team collected approximately $900.00 in donations which benefits research efforts
March of Dimes – March for Babies: Participation in the March for Babies helps saves babies’ lives by funding research for premature birth and how to prevent it, support the families of premature babies in ICU, and help women carry health babies and have full-term pregnancies.
American Cancer Society: We appeared on a local radio show to raise breast cancer awareness and raised money to support the effort as well. We have also raised donations for the Coaches for Cancer campaign, another program associated with the ACS.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central PA: This organization sponsors several events throughout the year to help benefit families and children. On two separate occasions each year, LWCI cooked meals and served a total of 140 family members.
The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank: Another institution concerned with providing for families, and another instance where LWCI contributed food to those in need. In this case, we both gathered and delivered various non-perishable items.
Toys for Tots: In 2014, LWCI collected and donated more than 100 toys through this national program organized by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. This is an annual tradition for us.
