Q. We are a small, single site, unaffiliated skilled nursing facility. Do we need a Compliance Officer?

While technically, operating organizations with four or fewer facilities are not required to have an employee with the Compliance Officer title, the final regulations do require facilities to have a designated employee to uphold the specific compliance oversight responsibilities. All facilities need to ensure that one or more individuals are responsible for overseeing the compliance and ethics program. The final regulations suggest that these individuals should include the CEO, board members and/or division directors.

LW Consulting, Inc. can review your facility's current Compliance and Ethics program and develop a Compliance program that will meet your facility's needs. Our experts can help ensure your Compliance program is up-to-date and that it includes the seven fundamental elements while also improving ongoing monitoring of your compliance practices.
